The goal of early childhood education should be
to activate the child`s own natural desire to learn

Maria Montessori

Our international Primary School is a safe and happy learning environment for children from around the world.

Our school specialises in helping children adapt quickly to their new school and provides strong support for new starters.

Our language of instruction is English and our vibrant school community encourages learning English quickly.

Our school has a holistic and well-balanced learning program which combines core-curriculum subjects with plenty of extra-curricular activities and nurtures important social skills.

Curriculum

Our SAIL curriculum combines the international education program of Cambridge and the mandatory local syllabus, enriched by elements of the national curricula within mother tongue education. Most of the teaching is conducted in form of integrated learning with one form teacher.

Cambridge Primary is an international curriculum, used in over 160 countries around the world. It is aimed at children aged 5-11, so we adapt it for all classes of our primary school from P1 to P4.
Devised by subject experts and rooted in academic research, this curriculum is part of the University of Cambridge.

The program focuses on engaging children in global topics, getting them to think critically and develop a passion for learning. The primary curriculum is designed to provide learners with a solid foundation, which they can build upon as they progress through further education.

Extracurricular Activities

At SAIL we provide children with the time and opportunity to explore their interests, discover their talents and develop their skills. Beyond the core curriculum subjects, our pupils have the chance, each day, to take part in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which inspire, motivate and encourage children to be productive and use their time efficiently. A healthy balance of creative, sport and educational activities result in something of interest for everyone.

STEAM

In the traditional educational model where teachers lecture head-on and students take notes, students get bored easily and are not very effective. STEAM education is a modern practice-oriented educational model for independent discovery and learning under the guidance of the teacher. Therefore, it will inspire learning to students, sparking creativity and passion in children. Originating in the US, STEAM education has been interested in and researched for many years, in countries around the world. SAIL International School applies this modern, interdisciplinary way of learning.

SMSC

At SAIL, we recognise that the personal development of pupils, spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve. We therefore aim to apply SMSC education as a proved system used all over UK, that provides pupils with opportunities to explore and develop their own values and beliefs, spiritual awareness, high standards of personal behaviour, a positive, caring attitude towards other people, an understanding of their social and cultural traditions and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of cultures.
